DESCRIPTION

Located on the first floor of the Viima building, this versatile area is equipped with foldable Modeo tables and approximately 50 stackable chairs. The room has access to 6 meeting rooms, which can function as breakout rooms. However keep in mind that only two at the back are included in regular booking. Booking of the other rooms can be done via Aalto Space app or booking.aalto.fi.

The breakout rooms are:

    1. B125 Wood Ear – included
    2. B124 Toadstool – included
    3. B118 Truffle – not included
    4. B119 Chanterelle – not included
    5. B120 Puffball – not included
    6. B121 Porchini – not included

The space has two large monitors show two different things. The microphones in the space are located in the ceiling and should pickup the speaker’s voice quite well. Generally you don’t need to use a mic to be heard in the space. However if someone is remote they will be able to hear what is happening and who is speaking in the room.

The ceiling lights’ brightness can be adjusted, and the windows are fitted with blinds for controlling sunlight.

ARE THE MEETING ROOMS INCLUDED? Only the meeting rooms in the back of the room are included in the regular booking. Booking of the other 4 rooms that can be accessed outside of Juniper are note included.
SELF-SERVICE! All our spaces are self-service, which means you are responsible for setting up, cleaning, and resetting the space as instructed. Detailed instructions will be sent via email once your reservation is confirmed. You can also find reset instructions in most of our spaces. Thank you for your cooperation!

FAQ

Is there other furniture in the space other than listed?
Oh yes, we’ve got some high tables. Fair warning though, they sometimes wander off to other spaces depending on where they’re needed most.

Can we order catering?
Absolutely! We’re big fans of MAU-KAS. They’re familiar with our spaces, whip up delicious food, and deliver top-notch service. Click here to check out their offerings. And guess what? There’s a catering room right next to The Stage (B110) on floor 1 to make managing your munchies a breeze.

I am not Aalto Staff. I don’t have access to the building for my event. What to do?
No panic! We can hand you the keys to the kingdom. Just swing by the Viima building during working hours on weekdays to pick them up. Remember to mention this little key exchange when you book the space.

I have guests coming in when the Viima building is closed. Can I leave the front door open?
Let’s keep it closed, shall we? Instead, why not appoint a friendly face to greet and let in your guests? You could also leave a contact number on the door—just anything but propping it open. We have a vigilant security guard who isn’t shy about shutting things down if needed. Let’s keep the party polite!

Can we serve alcohol?
Sure thing, but let us know when you fill out the booking form. Just a heads up: tipsy antics in university buildings are a no-go.

Can we stream our event?
The streaming functionality of this space is limited to what your laptop and the room’s webcam can offer.

What is the internet situation?
We’re wired and wireless! You can connect to Aalto Open, Eduroam, or Aalto networks. If you need a rock-solid connection, ask about our wired options.
