Cut & Ink functions as an integral in-house design, print, and production studio located within the Aalto Design Factory. Our primary mission is to maintain, update, and create essential content for both the Aalto Design Factory and the Viima building. Our team possesses extensive expertise in print, digital, video, and photography production, supported by several decades of combined experience in both Aalto and freelance environments.

UTILIZING CUT & INK

Aalto students, researchers, and staff are encouraged to use our services for their study-related projects and prototyping needs. To facilitate smooth and efficient service, please submit your printing or cutting tasks through the email link here. Follow the submission process to ensure a smooth workflow and timely request fulfillment. Please give us 2-3 workdays for delivery.

Our staff often works on focus-intensive tasks like coding, editing, and graphic design. To serve you better, please use the webpage submission button instead of approaching us directly. Thank you for your understanding!

We specialize in vinyl cutting and inkjet printing. Our vinyl cutting uses single colors based on the material’s inherent color, with layers needed for multicolor designs. Our inkjet printing focuses on posters for educational and prototype purposes, primarily on regular coated paper, and the service is free.

For vinyl cutting, submit files in AI, SVG, or DXF with vector-format lines and text. For paper printing, submit PDFs adjusted to the final print size.

Our complimentary services and materials are designed to support small educational and prototype needs within the Aalto community, focusing on academic rather than large commercial events.
