Vinyl cutting
We can cut vinyl, but we don’t print on it. This means your sticker will be a single color—the color of the vinyl material itself. If you want your final sticker to have multiple colors, you’ll need to layer different colored vinyl stickers on top of each other. Below, you can see an example of a sticker cut from “frost” vinyl used to indicate a room name.
Inkjet printing on paper
We have several printers and can print on various kinds of paper.
For vinyl, we have various colors of 3M series 50 and 30 vinyls. We also have application tape.
For printing, we usually have a stock of 90g 914mm wide coated plain paper rolls and try to maintain few rolls of semi gloss and gloss heavier weight coated papers. Most prints we usually print on the much more cost efficient 90g coated plain paper. Most of the printing we do for external users is posters. If you have more specific needs, please contact our staff below.
Occasionally, we receive requests to print on textiles. Unfortunately, we haven’t tested this, and we generally refrain from printing on materials not specifically designed for inkjet printing.
At Cut & Ink, we handle the machines for you. You can submit a job by using the email link on this page here. Always attach your files and ensure they are in the correct dimensions. For backup, please also specify in the email the desired size for your work and the number of copies needed.
- Vinyl cutting – AI, SVG, DXF (linework and text needs to be in vector-format (outlined))
- Paper printing – PDF (with the dimensions of the desired print)
NB! For paper printing please provide us with the final print size. Meaning if you want us to print an A0 please make sure your PDF is set to A0.
- Max vinyl cutting width is 580mm (no strict limit on length since its a roll).
- Typical poster paper print maximum width is 914 mm, including margins (no strict limit on length since its a roll).
- The theoretical maximum paper printing width is 1117 mm, but we usually don’t have such wide paper rolls in stock.
- If your paper print is A3 size or smaller, you should use the Aalto Mobileprint printers in most cases.
We provide our capabilities because we believe in the power of community. However, we do not wish to take away business from others or feel exploited. If you plan to organize an event and need a large number of posters, flyers, and stickers, we may not be the right place for that. In summary, please be reasonable in your requests.
Feel free to reach out if you are unsure about how this relates to your project. Contact details are at the contact part of this page

Wait
Wait for our reply. If you have not received a response, your project is probably not completed, and just dropping by Cut & Ink for pickup will not speed things up. Remember, this is a community service, and we have regular daily tasks. We usually complete prints in 1-2 days. Vinyls might take a bit longer if they are complex. Thank you for your understanding and patience!
Wait
When your project is printed / cut your will get a confirmation and pick up instructions.
